Navtex

So ?? Reading the OP's replies to most posts - that is the impression given. It was also posted in good order and not to insult
Maybe I should submit further posts to you for checking ?
( i would hope / trust that that was not a generally taken impression ) Perhaps you should , as you are way off the mark , thank you for your earlier input

Well , thank you all for your in put , plenty there to consider , however it would appear there can only be advantages and no disadvantages

Im of the ' quite like' my navtex , but certain 2019 season getting zilch in the way of messages , thats both int'l and nt'l , screen showing ready for messages and signal spectrum looks ok , newish model nasa , old one was quite long lived. Area w scotland , oban mull etc,, are they working up here at the mo ? Any ideas? Thanks.

I di dreplace and upgrade my Navtex this year due to the fact the fin antenna was full of water and I had a big hole at the Nav station.
Once I filtered out the stations of no use I used it every day for the weather as many places I had no 4g signal and it gives me a repeater for the Chart plotter and a graph of the changes in barametric pressure.
Worth the money for the upgrade? not sure but it does give me peace of mind knowing the forecast is available at any time.
