Navtex engine

Hi
Ive an old Navtex antenae on my boat. Does anyone know whether its possible to use it to receive weather data using a PC? Maybe using the Navtex engine software.

Depends upon the antenna type - most are of the active variety, i.e the Navtex receiver supplies power to an amplifier located in the aerial base. This would make it difficult to use directly from a PC unless you can figure out how to get power to it. Also the latest types of Navtex can receive dual frequencies - the existing 518 & the newer 490. Your aerial may not do this
