Be grateful for some advice please. Log working perfectly before winter layup now no speed reading just 0.0. Went to hard - impeller was clean and paddlewheel revolving freely. Flicked paddlewheel to quite a speed and a reading appeared on the instrument. Relaunched thinking all ok but still no output just 0.0 even though travelling at 6+ knots. Impeller is correctly installed and pointing right direction. Any pointers please - do you think it is impeller or instrument ? Could it be calibration. Your advice gratefully received as not much clue on electronics.

On my Navman 100 log last year when the boat was on the hard I noticed the impeller was missing and luckily found it in the grass under the boat, the pin had worn the holes and generated enough slack to escape (pin could have easily been made longer) I drilled the holes slightly larger and fitted a larger and longer pin. I have also seen magnets fall out of impellers (or maybe rust out) If it is none of these then all I can suggest is to check the wiring between the impeller and the display.
Good luck

Same thing happened to me, Hunter

Exactly the same story! I have a Navman S100 and it suddenly stopped sending speed to the display. The strange thing is that the sea temperature still works, along the same cable to the Fuji plug, and the speed shows info on the display when in Demo mode. I checked the impeller, it is clean, it rotates nicely, and the magnet is still there (I checked that with another magnet). So why won't it work?

Also, if this is terminal, which impeller on the market today will fit seamlessly with the Navman kit? I have the depth and wind instruments also in the 100 series, and they both work fine?

Navman speed log

Hi, The answer to my original problem was that after antifouling I had left a little nib of antifoul on the housing which conspired to stop the impeller turning. Hence when out the water and spun a reading but back in dead!! Mike

Hello, I am in New Zealand and am looking for a replacement paddle / impellor for my Navman S 100 thru hull fitting for my yacht. If I cannot purchase just the paddle / impellor, then I would like to buy the complete transducer for this Navman model. Can anyone please tell me the details of a company who is the stockiest around the world of this product as I cannot find it in New Zealand.

Navman disappeared from the marine market a long time ago. I think they were also branded as Northshore but the company was bought out by Navico.
You could try Airmar who might have a suitable transducer.

The i,pellor magnet could be 'dead' but your other magnet would still attract it ... so that's not really a test. What would be a test - is a small steel pin or similar to check that the Impellor magnet is still a magnet !

Some impellors have TWO magnets - each at 180deg ..... not unusual for one to get lost - especially if some twit with a pressure washer plays with the impellor.

As another says - Check out Airmar ... they usually have a table online showing compatibility.
