Believe Navman are to disapear or stop trading as Navman, but will now be known as North star.
Will this have any implications on warranty or repairs on Navman gear? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have a feeling I am going to end up with some Northstar and some Navman on my new boat in September. I hate things that dont match!

North America rebranded last year? I can see Northstar Chart Plotters and VHFs, but not 3100 series instruments on their web site. I fear their annoucement really says "we will be burning off Navman Instrument stock through to August" /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Has anyone seen any evidence 3100 series Northstar Instruments yet?

It might be a good time to buy Navman equipment as chandlers will be trying to get rid off it cheap (well relatively). When Silva went over to Navico I saw some bargains being sold off.

You are a company's dream customer, sell one loss leader and you'll buy all the other tat regardless. Unlike you I prefer to have instruments based on my needs not what they look like. What do you do if your chosen brand does not make the unit you want?

I only ask as I did not know people actually did this???

Glad the warrenty will still work - you'll need it. My fishfinder lasted one outing.

That is the whole thing with electronics, it will either fail immediately or last years and years.. you got unlucky. No electronics company can guarantee against component failure, it's life.
