Can someone help me, I have a navionics sd chart it works fine in my Lowrance chart plotter , but I have just noticed a little switch on the side of the card and wonder what it’s for. They came with the boat and I have no instructions for it. And maybe I can impose further on your knowledge , I am now getting a message no gps signal , and on looking on the internet it would seem that my gps module is busted , there are a few that look suitable on eBay would anyone have any idea as which would be suitable for me , thanks. Kieron

The little switch on side of card is a Write Protect switch .... it prevents deleting / writing to the card .... leaving it on LOCK will not stop it working in your Lowrance. But you will not be able to save tracks etc. to your card. But you can read routes etc. TO the plotter.

What Lowrance Plotter is it ? A picture or its model number would be good ....

Depending on its model - the GPS module needs to be of a type compatible ....

I used a product similar to this from the same company. The chap was very knowledgable about plotters etc and also supplied a power cable which I believe included wires for the NMEA data from the GPS antenna receiver uniit.

OK - the 5150 can accept an NMEA GPS input ..... so all you have to do is be handy with making the wire connections which are shown in the manual ... it would need to be an ACTIVE GPS antenna - that is powered and processing GPS to output to the plotter.

Reason I asked for model - is that Lowrance were a NMEA 2000 unit such as 3500's 5500's etc. with NMEA possibility ...

Hi ,and good evening Refueler, sorry about the double message, I’m using my phone and it does not react the same way as my computer , it didn’t show the page in the same way, the unit you have indicated seems to come from China , did you speak to somebody in England to get your help, thanks very much. Kieron

Sorry sorry , I’ve just mixed up my answer and replied only to one of the replies but. Thanks for all your help, am I right in thinking that bilgediver, you got yours from a British supplier and that refueler got yours from the supplier in Hong Kong , thanks again. Kieron

No .... my Lowrance is the 3500C and it has the NMEA2000 GPS - thats why I asked ............... UK purchase many years ago when I lived in UK.

The Plotter display has just failed and I have replaced the whole with an Onwa plotter.

Before you ask - my GPS puck will not be any good for you ... sorry.
