It appears Navionics Iphone and Ipad App has gone! This is such a shame as it was a great app, the reason I bought an Iphone. Is there a good alternative?

You're lucky. The whole of Android market has disappeared from my phone since I refused to allow Google to use my personal data.

These yank firms are more like big brother than chairman Mao ever was.

I have also been looking for this as wanted the channel islands charts for my day skipper
Am a bit confused re the whole inavx navionics imray choices tbh

I think the choice is between Navionics and Imray, iNavX requires external charts.

I'm leaning heavily towards Imray, as Navionics seem to have major problems at the moment. It also makes sense, as I have Imray printed charts, and their Tides Planner is the best.

You can download a demo app via here.

[Later] Having played with the demo, I've decided to go with the Imray app, it is much more intuitive than the Navionics one.

From Navionics Facebook page...

In order to supply you with the best user experience possible, Marine Apps are temporarily unavailable on iTunes for maintenance and enhancements. The newest version will be available by the end of April. Of course, all prior versions are working as usual but updates will be unavailable until the new version is released. Please contact mobile@navionics.com with any questions. Thank you for your continued support.

Android Market is still there (or at least on my HTC and Samsung Galaxy tab) It has been re-named Google Play.
The Navionics app is still listed. I had a look at the new UK and Holland package to see if it would be worth another £21 to upgrade. I will stick with the old version which I have on both devices from one purchase.

It will be back, they are doing updates. Rather worrying that they need to remove them.

My ipod crashed and I had to rebuild and rejailbreak it at OS3.0 , but the only version on navionics site no longer supports OS3.0 and I have to pay again anyway for that, so I can no longer use my ipod for nav.

I might buy the Imray, or just not bother.

it's worrying that they have withdrawn the apps; if they were stable, they could have left them up.

Yes I agree it's a bit strange, but they've done it before.
IIRC the updates will be a complete download rather like the annoying way the TomTom app is always a complete and huge download just to update.
I guess the iPad 3 is one of the reasons for the upgrades.
