Finally, the Navionics app is very dependant upon the internet - something I really dont want.
The iPad app doesn't require Internet access while underway. Only when downloading a chart area. The old iPhone UK/Holland had the entire chart, but the iPad HD version downloads a user specified rectangle. This is the bit that needs www when in port, but I found the area large enough for a weeks cruising range.
Thanks Roy - Very helpful !
I want to link it to the e series via a wireless router. You tried that?
We have a pair of E Series widescreens in the race boat, one for the throttleman and one for the navigator, they are networked so we don't have a spare hole for the router - we are getting a network switch so that we can fit a router for the wireless which will make all of this possible.

Navionics have a FAQ for this: And Raymarine have a page as well Here
Mike - I know you're not one for following convention or taking the easy way out, which is probably why you drive a new P67 and I drive an old F43...
But get rid of the Betamax and invest in an iPad-3 with the HD Navionics App (Europe HD Version: 2.5.1 - GeoCore version: 01.00.26.3) - you know it makes sense...
I'm out of here.....
