Navigation Warning near Swin Spitway!

Did anyone hear the Thames Coastguard warning the weekend, about an object sticking out above the surface near Swin Spitway? I think it's estimated position was: N51'42.400 E01'08.100.

Any updates on this?

Seems to be taking a while to remove this hazard doesn't it Jim, apparently the position is approximately dead accurate too!

I wonder if anyone 'official' has actually been to look yet, or if the CG are simply acting with due diligence in reporting on what they've been told about.
Given the amount of traffic that passes that way it seems unbelievable that a 'new' obstacle can suddenly be seen, doesn't it? If it's some kind of thin post, as described originally, the odds must have been on it being knocked over years ago.
Very strange.

Well it wasn't there two years ago when Colin and I trundled backwards and forwards for the survey. It was low water springs then so as Amulet saw it around LW neaps, it would have been visible to us if there. I was thinking of popping down there tomorrow but I doubt I can get up early enough to make LW! I think you are right Dick - due diligence but I guess that means that someone will have an official look in due course just to stop them having to broadcast the warning.

Latest update is:

That Thames CG have now stopped issuing the warning after Trinity House have on two separate occasions, sent the multi task vessel 'Alert' to carry out surveys in the reported area and nothing of any concern has been found.

Crossed the Spitway South to North on Saturday on a friends boat a little after low water. Saw the Alert but not the object! Cracking sail though.
