I have a Lowrance iFinder H2O GPS and NauticPath charts on and SD card - can I view the charts on my PC? With what software? I'd prefer not to buy the Lowrance Mapcreate s/w if poss - or is that the only way?

Hiya,
I looked into this last year and it seems you do need the lowrance software.
JGtech are selling the software and readers at a good price.
i would def read up on the mapcreate software and confirm it will do what you want before purchase.

Roy

There are supposed to be 2 ways to view Nauticpath cards on the pc and both involve only using the later USB Lowrance Card reader. Earlier RS232 reader only reads MMC cards and will not display Nauticpath on it's software which was up to version 5.
Method 1 is via the latest Mapcreate Software, which for anyone outside US is really a waste of money as it's primary goal is to to create maps from its East or West US mapping included.
Method 2 is to use the emulator downloadable from Lowrance web-site - but as said above it is necessary to have Lowrance card reader to get card to read into emulator.

The above actually is not that much different to any other chart card system that requires own brand card reader.
