At the request of one member who seems to think i have been a little too quiet this year so far here is what we have been up to over the last couple of weekends

So here is lift out on the 22nd February. Just as I sat down to breakfast the lads came round to say they were ready for NC!

So here they are lining her up

Then gingerly bringing her up the slipway.

Washing her bum.

Then taking her for a trip across the yard.

Day two was a day of leg work.

So here she is safely chocked ashore

Oil draining and its clean for once! No water contamination.

Bottom housing off and inspected all looking clean with no wear.

Gearbox off to do the UJ bellow.

And with the bellows back in place and a quick tidy up its a well earned drink!

So that's the leg pretty much done. Liam is took the shaft and lower housing to work to fit the new oil seals. Easier in a warm garage. That just left the gear linkage seal and a refill with fresh oil.

Day 3

Polishing in the snow!

Early start this morning. Doesn't Liam look impressed?

But this soon puts a smile on his face!

And whilst he was polishing I had the lovely job of scraping growth from the trim tabs and drive. Great job!

Day 4.

So back to work again.

Here we are with the shaft and new needle bearing back in place.

And changing the gear linkage seal

Finally the drive is back together. The refurbished props have not made it here in time so old ones on for now then change them in a couple of weeks.

And back doing more polishing.

And finally Day 5, yesterday.

So with one last flurry of activity NC is finally ready to be dipped back in the wet stuff today.

So she is almost ready for a long summer of cruising. Just a full engine service to go in a couple of weeks then off we go.

Looking good!!

Mine's coming out of the water soon so I can polish and antifoul her. Out of interest what polish etc do you use?

We used G3 then G6 compound on the hull, followed by T-Cut, then Autoglym Super Resin polish and finally a couple of coats of carnuaba wax. The compound and T-Cut were used with the foam heads on the polisher, then the super resin polish was aplied by hand and buffed off with a lambs wool buffing head and the wax was applied by hand.

With a healthy dose of liams elbow grease :D She looks great See you Friday and Thanks for the beer:cool:

As a matter of interest one can be prosecuted for having a beer keg. Go look at http://www.kegwatch.co.uk/

Not my problem.

Presumably they are supplied to the marina because they have literally hundreds of the things for chocking boats ashore on. They work quite well. Shame they are not supplied full. Although with the bill I have just received I think they should have been!!

So NC has finally got her bum wet again.

Had a quick clean up in the cockpit this afternoon so she is ready to head out on Friday evening. Now bring on the weekend

And then last night we set about giving the cockpit rug a good scrub and wash. The colour of the water that came out of the first wash had to be seen to be believed. The rug didnt even look terrible dirty to start with!

One clean cockpit rug ready to take back to the boat tomorrow.
