Nature has painted my decks green - how to reverse .......... ??

I am thinking the following (it is pretty bad) ...........

1. Jetwash

2. Scrub using Ecover washing up liquid.

3. On stubborn areas, use oxalic acid/Y10

4. Jetwash again.

Does anyone have any better suggestion ? ............ many thanks

You don't say what your deck is made of. If teak, be very careful. If GRP or Treadmaster or similar, careful use of a pressure washer will easily clean it up. An other option is to use one of the many brands of patio cleaner.

Patio Magic will remove the green with no effort. Grunt will remove any stains with no effort. Then just wash as usual.

Be carefull with the jetwasher even on GRP. Mine's a cheap one, but was still strong enough to blow a couple of holes in the gelcoat when doing the same job on a friend's boat.

My decks are Tread master, I find Patio Magic very effective. Just brush on and leave, might need a second go later if not fully cleared.
In my experience from neighbours, give a bloke a jet wash and he can clean in an afternoon and area that used to take him an hour with a bucket and brush.

All of it, with a spray wearing a mask. Not when afloat tho’, it’s toxic. Leave for weeks, rinse. Sunshine helps it’s action, so leave til next month?

The whole deck. Use on of those gallon sized, pressurised week killer bottles - the one that slings over your shoulder, you pump up and spray with a wand. Do the whole deck and under toe rail fittings etc. bobs yer auntie

Wet and forget is a game changer. Works on your sprayhood and sail covers too.

Any benzalkonium chloride based mould and mildew or patio cleaner will do the job effortlessly

Barrenttine Knockout Mould and Mildew Cleaner, from Toolstation

Good for killing algae on ropes etc
AFAIK safe on hoods and covers etc but always test on a corner if in doubt.

Then I must try some this year. Who sells it ? Is it a powder or liquid ? Do you apply and leave or apply and scrub ? In all the many years I have been boating I have never used it. Cheers

A kilo of Oxalic crystals will last you a lifetime. Also gets the brown stains off the waterline.

Get 'em from here You may need to fib about it being for business use.

Wear gloves, overalls and eye protection. It isn't the strongest acid around, but it's still unfriendly stuff

Yes, Patio Magic works brilliantly, on decks and canvas alike.
Personally I to brush on rather than spray on, my be wrong but feels less risk.
