Nathanlee\'s definitive guide to not catching fish on a boat
When i had the problems with the boat, I couldn't get back into Wells, so anchored in Holkam bay. I took the opportunity to do a bit of fishing, so rigged up some feathers... an hour later, nothing.
Came in to Wells, had enough of working on the boat one day, so bought some dried rag worm, and set up a rig to fish in the creek. Caught a crab.
Decided, after some local advice that lug worm is best, so went out at LW with a fork and dug up some Lug worms, waited for the tide, and tried again. Nothing.
Ran out of bait, so decided to try the spinner. Caught a crab!!!! Hooked it through the face.
Finally, yesterday, I was determined to not buy my dinner for once, so borrowed somebody's tender, and went out the channel in search of Mackerel. Jigged my feathers for ages. Nothing.
Motored slowly back in with a spinner out, just incase. Nothing.
To add insult to shame, by the time I got back, all the shops were shut, so it was looking like I was going hungry last night. Thankfully a nice couple on the pontoons invited me aboard to share some of their curry.
The moral of the story. When I split up with my first girlfriend, by mum lied to me. There aren't plenty more fish in the sea!
