Just installed this today to replace our old broken depth sounder. and some numpty questions:

The manual gives the procedure to set the keel offset, and it makes reference to an "enter" key. Sorry to say that is well hidden somewhere as our unit only has 3 buttons, Set, Up arrow and down arrow. Where have they hidden this enter key?

Sometimes the word "depth" above the reading flashes briefly. No mention in the manual what this means. Any ideas?

And last one, part way through todays trip, the display went to 0.0 I know we were in deep water >10M. I did wonder if it was because we had mounted the sensor inside the hull and it was struggling with a weak signal. But the reading did not return when we got back to shallower water. It took a "pc reset" (power off and power back on) to restore proper operation.

Perhaps not a very good first impression.

The instructions for mine do not refer to an Enter button. Sounds like you have the instructions for the Nasa Clipper depth sounder which does have an enter button. Target 2 instructions here https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...0QFnoECBkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3iIymIUFamwVc9O_WjTgoo

When the word "depth" flashes it means there is not a good echo from the bottom whiich happens once in a while. I have had no problems with having the transducer mounted inside the hull.

My transducer is sitting in a bath of castor oil to improve the signal, obviously inside the hull and that flashing depth is nothing to worry about as mine has done that for years

Ah, so the set key is the enter key on mine.

No mention of why sometimes the word "depth" blinks on and off, and no mention of suddenly displaying 0.0 and needing a power of and back on to restore operation?
If you press the "set" button the display will show the "sensitivity threshold" of 0.0 which you can vary using the up and down buttons then pres set again to lock in the value.
