the nasa bracket is super gross in appearance

Well it’s not like you’re going to see it much up there! Looks like if you remove those two screws you can dispense with the bracket and use something more, er, beautiful.

I would think any metal pipe clamp the same diameter of the tube would fit. E.g. Tube Clamp - Additional Support to Wall Mounted Posts | S3i Group

I've got one of these and the black flat bracket I cut down and drilled to fit the top of my mast. Haven’t given it another thought.

As long as it works and doesn’t fall apart, which to date mine is fine, I’m not too worried about the aesthetics of it some 30’ above me at the top of the mast.

Watched the birds sitting on the top of my mast the other day. They had no negative comments about the bracket, although they did still poo on the deck!
