NASA Supernova Combi Tri and Anchor L.E.D mastlight any good?

I've got one. It's very bright and consumes negligible power. Only been on the boat for 6 months, so can't comment on longevity.

Yes, as stated above.

I think IIRC there were a few problems with failures discussed here but I imagine they would have been sorted now.

I have one and it's very bright.

I have a NASA LED unit fitted by the previous owner, might be an earlier model. It's around 2 years old and no problems.

Very bright you can easily check they're working in daylight, power consumption is low. It switches between tri and anchor by reversing polarity which is a nuisance for my new switches as I can't find matching changeovers.

If you cannot get the correct switches use small micro relays instead, interlocking them to provide both functions

I replaced the AquaSignal tri-colour masthead light on my boat with one, for several reasons:
1. Original was ancient!
2. Cable to masthead and deck connection was only two core.
3. Boat didn't have lights for motoring, only sailing. I fitted a bi-colour bow light for motoring which in conjunction with the all-round white at the masthead fulfilled my needs.
4. I didn't want to use a lot of power when sailing.
5. I could use the existing on/off switch, and the only thing I had to do was to fit the supplied reverse polarity switch.
Only thing to note is that the unit comes with a short length of cable so you end up with a connection at the masthead, whereas my previous cable connected within the old light. It wasn't a problem connecting it and making it weatherproof.

Just windering if the NASA Supernova Combi Tri and Anchor L.E.D mastlight is any good?

Nothing wrong with the nav light, bright with decent cut-off between sectors, I have had one fitted and regularly used for a number of years (7+?). The biggest problem is the thin aluminium mounting bracket supplied is not up to the job. I am not sure if it is due to birds landing on the light or the movement at the top of the mast but the Aluminium fatigues and eventually breaks. I was having to replace it every two season until I made a much stronger one from thicker aly.

So thumbs up for the light, it's cheap enough you could buy one and a spare but make a better bracket for fitting to the mast-head!

Why do you need a micro relay set up? Mine came with a switch...

I've got a switch in the heads, so it's neither on the switch panel and nor does it match the switches on the switch panel if I moved it there. It's purely a styling thing.

If you cannot get the correct switches use small micro relays instead, interlocking them to provide both functions

Yes, I'm contemplating that. I think you only need one DPDT relay though?
I'm not keen on the idea of the coil draw and the additional device so eventually I'll accept the status quo or go for a rotary switch of some kind.

Very bright! I have the NASA tricolour/anchor at the masthead and a Bebi anchor light on my monkey bars. The NASA anchor light is just as bright as the Bebi (which are renowned for their brightness).
