Nasa Stingray power supply?

I have been given a NASA Stingray sounder and would like to know how to power the unit, there is a connection on the back for the transducer and another I assume is for power, however it has 3 pins and I don't know which is which?? Any body know which ones to connect 12V to??

You can probably download a manual from the NASA website. Worth trying as I believe the Stingray takes a PP9 (9 volt) battery.

I had 2 stingrays and don't remember a PP9 ... maybe. The Seafarer series could take a large square 9v .. some took AA's like the one I use in my weekender.

Got a plug here and just done a technical 'does it make a spark with a battery charger' test, if you face the back of the stingray unit the negative will be the centre pin and the positive will be the pin on the right side of it, i've turned it round as I was looking at a plug rather than the unit.
Thats assuming the notch is at the bottom.
Don't know why it has a third pin.

The nasa stingray sounder needs a 12volt supply. I made up my own power cable with a little help from nasa. You need a 3 way 180 degree din socket. The centre pin is negative and the pin nearest to the centre of the instrument is positive.
