NASA Instruments - Target 2 and Clipper

I have a Target 2 depth sounder fitted, the transducer seems to be in good working order, however the screen has seen better days.
Does anyone know if the screws are in the same position for the Target 2 and Clipper units? If so I wont need to re-drill holes and just simply upgrade the screen.

If you go to the NASA website they have downloads of their manuals which I'm pretty sure include the positions of fixing screws.

No. The Target is oblong and the Clipper is square. Why not replace like with like?

I know someone who is selling the Clipper units and thought it might freshen the appearance up a bit.

Not much of a job to fill the holes with gel coat filler and drill new.

Clipper has more functions but on the depth you won't notice them. Bigger screen though.

Nasa are very competitive with refurbishment prices. I had a AIS Radar repaired a few years ago for £30. Like new.

I have had both the Target and Clipper depthsounders, the best instruments NASA make.

The Target is perfectly satisfactory but the Clipper has useful features like keel depth offset, a much clearer display and looks the part,while the Target has ' budget ' written all over it.

Can't remember if the Target has 2 depth alarms but the Clipper does, allowing one to set a shallow alarm for risk of grounding, deep alarm for risk of dragging, as ' anchor watch '.

My current Target 2 has a shallow warning alarm.

To be fair they do they job very well even if they do scream "budget". I don't see the point in spending £££ when they do the job very well.

I think you'll find your Target 2 has keel offset plus deep and shallow alarms, just like the original Target sounder.
