Great engines, had the 200 hp version in a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 805 and had no problems at all. It is a Marinised Toyota Land Cruiser engine, and we all know of their reputation for longevity, you also get a 3 year warranty, which you no longer get with some Swedish products. Servicing is also reasonable.
There was no option of Nanni's in my new boat, otherwise i would have given them serious consideration.

Good products and a good base engine Toyota, I understand that the warranty is 1 yr full 2 & 3 major components only.

UK main dealers are A R Peachment, very helpful

Just ordered the 200hp versions on my new Beneteau and was a bit worried like yourself at first, but spoke to some peeps and only got positive feedback. Also went to London show and (this is the sort of thing you can only do at big shows) was able to compare them sizewise, check out the quality of the engineering etc. and chat to the people who really know them.

The 200's are indeed on the Land Cruiser Toyota base and the 150 might be also, but the smaller ones are on Kubota blocks, also VERY good engines. If you check the speck of the really big boats, they often spec. Kubotas for gensets etc. I believe they are used primarily in the construction industry, so they have to be tough.

The Nanni's can also be smaller than some counterparts as they are on a newer block design (D series excepted).

if u read the warrenty conditions its not worth a carrot.
i bought & fitted a new one 2 1/2 yrs ago .
i fitted it but not allowed to service the thing, the wiring loom connections were sub-standard & were replaced by the importer.
given that i had to re-engine i would contact Beta , same base engine 1k @ least cheaper + your even clever enough to service the thing

I must say that the Volvo D6 I have has only a one year warranty but I think / hope well serviced it will last me, I can not find any horror stories on the Nanni and the Toyota block certainly is a good credential
