Names for stuff!

Still glowing from the success of my "Favourite Boaty Word" thread, I am determined to carry on....

Anyway, My parents are very very good at this "names for stuff" thing. For example...

"Pete" the Pinta (Autopilot)
"Freddie" the Outboard (Yes, its a Mercury *groan*)
"Win Chandal" ...
"Tommy" the Tohatsu (Freddie is dying)
"Desmond" the GPS/Plotter (used to be a Decca)
"Polly" Perkins... *sob* (And you wonder why I need councilling)

The list goes on and on, but I'm interested to know if I'm the only one who has put up with this?

What ya got?

Day skip instructor always refered to the act of locating the halyards away from the mast to stop them frapping as 'de-spanking the clankers' we have stuck with that one

filling in the log (large crewed vessel) with vis, sea state, wind etc. would occasionaly appear

Visability: D (Dark)

Sea state: FAC (Flat Arse Calm)
