I applaud the effort to find a Greek word for this concept. I have the good fortune of being of Greek descent. In the Greek school at our local church, the instructor told us that English has three words for just about any concept. There will be a plain word of German origin, such as "House". Then there will be a fancy word of Latin origin, such as "Chateau". Then there will be words of Greek origin for bigger concepts, such as "Oikos", which is the ancient Greek word for "House", and gives us the word "Economy".

Google Translate favors the word "Varka", but that word is from Latin. My cousins generally reserve the word "Ploio" for "Ship", so that wouldn't be right either. I apologize that I can't help.

I believe that the Latin Barca may be derived by the Greek Varka (which is pronounced the same because Greeks do pronounce V as similar to B). After all Latin too is greatly influenced by Ancient Greek, containing many of its words and expressions. Lets not forget that Before becoming the Roman Empire, the south of the Italic peninsula was the "Magna Graecia" = The "Great Greece"

If you consider the whole word "paucinaviculophobia" it means "fear of having [too] few boats", which may be the underlying problem for people with more than they need.
