Mystery Make - Ancora

Does anyone have any information on a make of German motor cruiser called Ancora? We bought one a year ago as a live-aboard. Its from 1973, fibreglass, 44 feet and bit like a Hatteras in style. I’m after history of the marque, other owners etc. I can find nothing on the net.

Its amazingly solid and well designed, and provides incredibly flexible and well thought accommodation, equivalent to a boat of over 50 feet. Any information anyone has would be appreciated.

<font color=blue>The Ancora make is little known outside of Germany. I have no experience of them barring having had a few jars aboard one in Cherbourg in the mid 70s.

I saw a 56 foot flybridge, almost certain it was this make or brand, (ancora 56) in the med, very flash with mirror patio doors.

I've heard of Astondoa and Anaconda - couldn't have been one of those ?

hi there.

Nope, end of our pontoon, never seen one before. Ancora 56. Def not astondoa. An anaconda is longer and thinner, i think.

Thanks for this info. My boat is definately Ancora - written on the side in big blue letters!
