Mysterious anchor warp marking

I worked for a European company for a while, doing engineering projects in the US. I finally convinced them to do all units in SI and chemical names IUPAC. Their conversions were ... unreliable. In US engineering schools, half of the exam problems are SI and the other half are traditional US units. There are odd unit conversions I still look up, but the basic units become instinctive.

I don't like to anchor in more than 7m because that's about my diving limit. I've got 30m of chain, so that's good for 7m. If it's less than 7m then 30m won't hurt. If I need more than 30m then it's a difficult situation and another 60m of rope will likely be adequate. If it's not then I'm far enough offshore to sail anyway.

No need for markers.
