Absolutely…either side of the season is best…this summer has been hot and humid…we even drove up north for some relief. Also you miss the crowds and the madness on the water.,,plus restaurants are still open but the ports reduce the tariff from the summer peak. So loads of reasons reallyReally? I am not anti tourist (I was a tourist myself last week)…they are vital for the local economy…no one wants to live in a dying town…I also believe that everyone has to right to go on holiday and enjoy it…and this is a great place to enjoy yourself. It’s just that I occasionally enjoy some peace and quiet…and it is lovely not to be fighting over a place to anchorDo you have a big sign on your boat saying 'tourists go home'?

We are aiming to be at the mouth of the Rhône by the end April and spend 4-6 weeks in the area the either park it for a while to miss the worst of the heat and mosquitoes or start making our way back up the Canal du Midi where it will be a little cooler if rather crowded.Absolutely…either side of the season is best…this summer has been hot and humid…we even drove up north for some relief. However, I am an all year boater…and even though I rarely go far…we have had some great winter boating in past years
The Camargue is one of our favourite places…we nearly bought a house on the Canal du Midi…and we’ve had a few adventures on it….the only problem with the Rhone valley (and I just drove up it last week) is the bloody windWe are aiming to be at the mouth of the Rhône by the end April and spend 4-6 weeks in the area the either park it for a while to miss the worst of the heat and mosquitoes or start making our way back up the Canal du Midi where it will be a little cooler if rather crowded.
