Not seen a Cardinal with top marks missing but I was always told it's important to know that black is where the 'points' of the triangles point to and that it was important to remember it. (Guess this is why)

So the Black on a North mark would be at the top, not forgetting that East is always, 'The other one' /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
