Ok so I'm going to put the stainless ones back on as I've got to put a new anode on anyway.
Question is, anodes erode even faster with S/Stl. I've heard of people doubling up on the anodes. Are bigger ones available? I can't see that I can fit 2 prop anodes. Not enough room.
Volvo 290 duo's

What say the panel?

Col, I've been through this. Basically you need a bar anode attatched to the transom and then earthed onto the engine in the normal way. Steel Develpments advised me of this, particularl;y on the 290 leg which is very under "anoded". You'll need a big bar per leg.

Already got 1 big bar anode between the legs. Is there any recomendation as to the positioning of them.

p.s. Just finished your risers. Be down Fri 20:00 ish if you want to collect.

fit the electric anodes. Triple Ace had them and the normal anode life trebled...

they are not that expensive and are really worth the small cost

They should be fitted "in line of sight" of the metal they are protecting.

Phew, how do I answer that/forums/images/icons/wink.gif I think you must have the bars as close to the legs as possible. As to the risers, thanks a lot. I'll give you a ring Friday - beer at the Spinniker perhaps??

Fiddle, fiddle, fiddle, you just cant help yourself can you? huh?

dont buy the big bar anode from the barge, the ones they have got have been wrongly cast and they dont quite fit the stud spacing of the proper ones, although they are 15 not 30 quid.

Playtime been used on 5 consecutive occasions now with breakage!! You'll be winning back the jonah tittle soon.

If you have big anodes on the boat, ensure they are electrically bonded to the outdrives, they will then protect the whole ensemble. Or put some on and connect them.
