I got a M**** for under £150 but when the front is open the Velcro on the sleeves sticks to the velcro on the open flapping front(s).
The 28,000 hydrostatic Head of the Tribord Ozean jacket caught my eye. Very impressed and I'm off to check it out.
I'll see if I can do a review of it.
Did you ever check this out? I'm thinking of getting this, will be doing offshore and quite probably ocean, but this is half the price of the Gill OS1.
After reading this thread yesterday I was quite taken with one of Tribord's jackets, but I couldn't work out the sizing.
I hate buying clothes online, but they don't seem to list and stores or stockists. I guess I'm out of luck?

I wanted these which were on offer for £10 each. The missus chose a Gill "Key West" jacket instead. Apart from her colour choice it seems excellent,

Look at the XM range... purpose built for seagoing, come in various 'strengths' and various prices .... and a lot cheaper than Musto!
I bought these recently from a bloke whose business was winding up and he was selling old stock on Gumtree. They were the XM Ocean range brand new with tags and I got the jacket and salopettes for a total of
They work very well in 'heavy weather'!
I have been thinking about sailing jackets for upper middle aged inshore day sailors such as myself
I seldom sail in the really hearty rough stuff and I have a set of pretty good inherited foulies including salopettes for then but by and large when it turns bad I want to be in harbour or at home.
I spend a lot of time up estuaries and on rivers and I want a jacket that is
1/completely waterproof
2/with a decent warm collar and tucked away inside I want a hood that is warm and has enough of a peak to keep the rain and wind out of my eyes - big enough to go over the thinsulate hat
3/I want the pockets to be warm and deep - with a zip up inner one for wallet and glasses
4/I want it to be a bit long - about the length of one of those screwfix yellow jobs so that I can sometimes get through a shower of rain without having to struggle into the saloppettes - which is a bit of a mission for a big bloke in a small boat
5/I want it to be in the sort of muted colours that would allow me to wear it in town without looking like a street sweeper , French Cat racer or lego parking warden
6/no more than one badge or logo if possible - but I would prefer it to be unadorned - no high vis reflectors or any of that nonsense thanks
we used to wear bridge coats - navy blue outside, red quilted liner- warm as toast and looked okay for around town, walking the dog and also daysailing
- they were pretty good
oh yes... and I would like it to cost under £100
any suggestions chaps or are we into moon on a stick mode here.

Because I can't help myself from searching, this seems to be their site: http://www.thebunkerwarehouse.co.ukI walked into an army surplus in Wadebridge, near Padstow, and came out with this little beauty for £60. I crossed the Bristol Channel in a polo shirt and this- two still on the rack, a M and an XXL!
