no, she earns a miniscule fraction of her income from "public life" as you put it. Have you any idea how much money most people make from social networking?

You could use that excuse for going through people's dustbins and looking through their curtains too.

Sorry but that's nonsense.

Anyone who sets up websites to make money hope and expect people to read them. They are there in the public domain.

I don't expect, or hope, that someone will go through my bin looking for information I don't want them to have.

Ellie sets her stall out as being a professional internet marketeer. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but please don't cry foul when someone quotes what she's written as part of her marketing role.

You equate reading things people have posted on the internet to going through their dustbins? You have an unusual view of the internet.

I agree -

I deserve the stick I get because I have stood up and asked for it

what is annoying is when people invent stuff you never said nor ever believed

but that is the web world

I am pleased that people care what some bloke they have never met buys an old boat and takes it to a place they could never be shagged to sail to.

I really enjoy other blokes sailing blogs - only a sailor can tell you what it is like - one chap I follow sails off the East Coast of canada

it is a short but stunning season in places that make the West Coast orf Scotland look like the salt marshes of Essex _ which I also love.

I have enjoyed the thread - or I was until the OP went away.

It has reminded me that you should always have plan B - and it should be affordable

I think that's going a bit far; there is plenty of corroboratory evidence to suggest that she does, including, for example a web page by Preston Marina

http://www.prestonmarina.co.uk/core_pages/EZMR.htm

and a Preston blog page

http://blogpreston.co.uk/2014/01/el...hich-has-rested-in-preston-dock-for-10-years/

(if Ellie and the author of that page should look at Fisherman's avatar on these forums they may be able to solve a mystery).

Ah but he doesn't say that she "Never"owned the boat .

or perhaps she's a white mouse looking for the Ultimate Question?

Hmm. Let's think about this. Asking price for Elizmor was £35k, so she probably sold for £32k. The previous owners had a lift estimate of £5k, which may have doubled to £10k. Total cost in thousands ...

FORTY TWO!

Nice blog of Ellies...I have just come across this thread and correct me if I am wrong as I can't be bothered to read all the thread, but does it go a bit like this?....young person buys boat of dreams..reality kicks in soon after..young person walks away from dream with empty pockets. Ask me how I know this?
