Hi fisherman, thanks for the link, I think I have tried them before but will see if they have anything new in - I think they said their website wasn't up to date.

I actually already have two massive fishermans anchors stowed on the bow, but want to get something else as well as I know the fishermans aren't that great in anything other than rock and weed. I like the look of the claw style anchor on that Woods Group website.

Thank you all for the really lovely comments so far - it's great to feel like a part of such a wonderful community.

I have spent the day creating a website for my adventures aboard Elizmor. I still have some work to do on it (namely, creating a gallery and uploading lots of photos which I know lots of you have asked about! Also got some diary/blog entries to transfer over to it) but am happy to share it all with you now:

http://www.elizmor.co.uk

Will keep you updated!

Hi ellie, website's now bookmarked - only problem is altho' I can get history and blog up (like) all I get when clicking on photos is mysupermarket.co.uk - is this a problem with my computer or ???

Hi Ripvan, thanks for checking out the website :D Which photos do you mean, any of the photos in general? I haven't uploaded the photo gallery yet so there isn't a link to that from the box on the home page, but it definitely shouldn't be sending you to mysupermarket.co.uk...

Provided the fishermans are heavy with wide flukes they'll hold perfectly well. Just remember they were the only anchor available for hundreds of years so they're far from useless.

Hi again, under gallery the word photos is highlighted, clicking on this I now get all sorts of shop and ad sites

@ripvan - I suspect that's your browser.. I don't remember what it's called but it links words through a search function.. Very annoying!!

@Ellie - Great site.. Looking forward to following the progress of Elizmor..

Some great photos and stories so far jellyellie.. Well done and the website is looking great..

Ripvan1 - Like jellyellie says, there are currently no links to any 'Galleries' under what you see as the Gallery heading on the home page. I think something on your PC is recognising the word 'photos' and converting it into an advert. I'd suggest you check your PC for malware.. Try downloading and running something like Malwarebytes - It's free and should detect and remove any malware.

Snot highlighted on mine and, according to the source, there is no link there. I think you may have a virus or other malware trying to be clever when it sees an unlinked "photos" ...

Nice one. There must be a ton ( a 1000kg eh?) of old anchors lying around Fleetwood and amidst aging fishing fleets in the NW? Perhaps a Google and a call or two or even a 'wanted' advert on the fish sheds ?

Plenty of meat on them floors and frames, nice pic !

Do carry some large iron spike nails and/or screws, wood is v v easy to refasten , much easier than wet or cold GRP!

Fleetwood is a good suggestion for finding an old anchor, thanks Blueboatman. Yep, she is very solidly built. Can't wait to take her to sea.

Sailorman yes! Need to make the switch! The red bottles will look better than blue anyhow ;)
