Aha, I guessed the last sequence was a Photoshop but had not spotted why ....very observant, tks for that.

Just spent a good while reading all 41 pages of this thread. It was a bit dissapointing to see the origional poster hasn't been back since the marina gave the other side of the story.Just interested to get the end of the story, its like reading a really good book only to find the last chapter is missing.

You buy a boat like that ................50-60 tonnes ...and big....with little knowledge of that type of vessel.....you do the research on........survey,launch costs etc.... first..not after you have foolishly paid for it...and you dont beg for charity for equipment etc to get it afloat after the event............hippy hand out attitude
.....bit SAD....not a bargain on the hard after all..................................

Dear Sundancer, did you mean:

"If you buy a boat like that, weighing 50 - 60 tonnes and big, with little knowledge of that type of vessel, you need to research survey and launch costs first, not after you have foolishly paid for it. You don't beg for charity for equipment to get it afloat after the event. I think this is a hippy hand out attitude and a bit sad. Not a bargain on the hard after all."

Your entire bigoted and vicious post seemed to be written in some sort of patois. Could there be a touch of the green-eyed monster against someone who has started a successful business based around their boat ownership? (Presumably as she has organised all the sponsors herself as well, she is also capable of spelling, not to mention maintaining a polite online presence, a skill in which it seems you could benefit from a few lessons.)

Blimey - four years on here

and nine posts - then number 10 demonstrates massive skills of incisive vituperation....

I enjoyed that

more please

Well said matey

I can't bring myself to read back through the whole thread again, but did anything ever come of the assertion by the vendor that
**There is the possibility of an option to share the lift costs with a neighbouring boat which will be launching next year, possibly February(?)**

I'm a little disappointed and surprised that Ellie hasn't updated us or her blog in the past week and a half. I hope all is well with her.

Sundancer made a perfectly valid point though. Harsh, perhaps, but perfectly valid. It certainly didn't justify that tirade.

... not to mention maintaining a polite online presence ...

I don't know what they teach in Digital Marketing 101, but I suspect that it includes "Don't use social networks to knock people on whose cooperation and goodwill you are wholly dependent to solve a self-inflicted problem". Preston Marina could have suffered and may well have suffered significant - and it appears, wholly unjustified - reputational damage from this affair.
