The Lovely Nigel came to my rescue and removed the unit so that I could take it to the repairman. Bad news. It is dead. The engineer called me this morning to say that's he's spent an hour on it (£60 per hour!) and can't get it to fire up. He said the unit is now obsolete with no spares available and he could spend another 2-3 hours on it at least trying to *******ise other spare units but with no guarantee that it would result in a working heater. So I've had to say arrivederla to it.

wot a bummer :(

oh well, have managed for 3 years without it! onwards!

A friend of mine bought a brand new eber on ebay from a source in Turkey of all places and made a considerable saving, he was of course bright enough to fit it himself, which makes all the difference, I would probably be struggling!

The eber is serviced and returned (top marks to Colchester Fuel Whatsits). Nigel has offered to refit it at the weekend (family duties notwithstanding) so watch this spot for great news on Sunday :D fingers crossed!

IT REALLY DOES LIVE!

Thanks to Nigel - who fitted the serviced and fixed unit today - Black Magic is now toasty and warm. It is SO lush and I am so happy!

Thumbs up to Colchester Fuel Injection Ltd who provided a great service and delivered the unit to my office.
