My Eber - bad news!

The Lovely Nigel came to my rescue and removed the unit so that I could take it to the repairman. Bad news. It is dead. The engineer called me this morning to say that's he's spent an hour on it (£60 per hour! ) and can't get it to fire up. He said the unit is now obsolete with no spares available and he could spend another 2-3 hours on it at least trying to *******ise other spare units but with no guarantee that it would result in a working heater. So I've had to say arrivederla to it.

wot a bummer


oh well, have managed for 3 years without it! onwards!

A friend of mine bought a brand new eber on ebay from a source in Turkey of all places and made a considerable saving, he was of course bright enough to fit it himself, which makes all the difference, I would probably be struggling!

Workshop just called. New wick, new glowplug, cleaned up, serviced, wotnot.

They say it's running beautifully now.

IT REALLY DOES LIVE!

Thanks to Nigel - who fitted the serviced and fixed unit today - Black Magic is now toasty and warm. It is SO lush and I am so happy!
