Just uploaded my third video of a singlehanded trip I made in June 2017. It was part of a 3 week trip from the Medway to the Isles of Scilly and back in 3 weeks. The first 3 days were uneventful as the first day was a harry flatters an I motored to Brighton, the second to Weymouth was motor sailing or under spinnaker, the third day was again motoring or spinnaker to Salcombe when I hit fog and the weather changed to the regular SW wind. There are some sights from the islands, but the return sail was a blast with the 100 nautical miles being covered at an average speed of 6½ knots.

My wife requires a legal undertaking that the sky will be blue and the sand white before setting off for the Scillies which is quite difficult to align with neap tides. Bailed out from night passage in September and spent very pleasant few days in Helford River instead.

Nice one Concerto! Good editing to keep it interesting (I was worried I would be fast forwarding). I'd love to get to the Scillies in our Konsort but seem to struggle getting out of the Solent.:)

It is difficult to go through the Needles to leave the sailing mecca of the Solent, that is why I sailed south of the Isle of Wight on my way westward. On my return I came back via the Solent as I had to meet several people.

Currently planning another video of a trip in 2016 from the Medway to Portsmouth for the Westerly Owners Association 50th anniversary and then back to the Medway. This one includes on my return a very fast sail through the Looe Channel against the tide on a very windy day. It will be more about the sailing than the WOA meet. Should be ready in about a week or so as editting takes so much time to keep it snappy and interesting to watch and not be hours in length. A lot of the 10 to 15 second video clips come from 2 to 3 minute shots. Even once finished I then try and shorten it further . The first video of Concerto under spinnaker started at 10 minutes and was cut to 5 minutes! Luckily I have all of the clips if I want to relive a particular event I sailed.
