rather than having one big boat, like some folk manage, I have a fleet of little boats that are used for different purposes.
Biggest one is 18 feet plus bow sprit, 80 years old and sits on a mooring in the harbour. Second is a 12 foot wooden rowing boat which also sits in the harbour and is principally a tender for number 1, but does get taken our for a row round the island from time to time. Third is a cruising dingy which I tow away on my holidays on the west coast, fourth is a 18 foot rowing boat which I own in a syndicate with a couple of other folk and we use for keeping fit and very occasionally for taking part in a rowing race. None of these boats have an engine, which I reckon makes them lower risk to other people. All of them are currently out of insurance and ashore. I need to insure all of them..... can anyone recommend a company which will take into account that they are all owned by the same person (plus the syndicate) and that they have are engineless, and give me a really good third party only price? I doubt my situation is entirely unique, but equally find that it is difficult to fit into an online box.
