Re: Private Mooring

Just hang a couple of nappies off Beachy Head. That'll do the trick.

Do you think that P&O knew this was coming from TCM?

Re: Private Mooring

Absolutely !

We wouldn't want to come back from the pub and find out that Australia had rafted up alongside us. We'd never get any sleep.

Don't any of you remember that wonderful GOON SHOW episode ond the cardboard replica they made of England - and then set off into the Atlantic ? Perhaps I am just too old for this forum.
If we choose a time when Politicians were all on holiday in Tuscany - we could go and leave no forwarding address - hmm .. the idea is growing on me.

Thank goodness for Brian's.....Think positive.......not like Rob and Dom
Actually it has already started........
There is a huge ship, floaty hotel, can't think of the name.
You can buy a cabin, for life if you like.
It sails to all the best places
I think it is for people who cashed in their pensions while they were still worth something.
I tried that, invested in antiques......they have been dropping ever since!

Anyway one day I shall set off on my little piece of England.

Regards Briani

You're never going to sail off on a William and Mary centre desk with a flotilla of Queen Anne chairs in tow, I hope /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Canvey Island

Don't need to go to all that trouble. Just send a dozen S*ns**lers racing in the Thames Estuary. One of them's bound to hit that ammo ship and Canvey Island should just fill up the Wash nicely.

Who\'d have thought...

...that under that craggy exterior there lays a brilliant mind.

TCM, just one small problem to overcome. My suggestion:

It's impossible to detach Westminster before we sail, therefore we will sail with a useless cargo of politicians and mandarins. And the b*stards are going to imagine that they are the Captain and officer corps. So instead of providing buoyant concrete pipes under Westminster, we should fill SW1's tanks with spent uranium. Then as soon as we are off soundings, a quick press of the right button and hey presto, "Say hello to Davy Jones for us". If we could ensure that this was done during a 3-line-whip division, we should get a full house.

it's imperative that we keep the house of commons. it's important to have a holding tank these days and if there's one place that's full of s**t round here....

Re: So, Mister Bond...

Did you know that Fleming's Blofeld is based on based on Henry's father. Apparently Fleming was looking for a villain's name and both he and Blofeld snr were members of the same club. At least that's what I remember from from Henry on Desert Island Disks, although I also seem to recall it was something to do with an architect called Blofeld who built a somewhat brutal modernist house close to Fleming.

Do you think we would draft too much to have a few months cruising the European canals, I quite fancy that.

Also I wonder if Lady UK (thought she needed a name) would get RCD classification. Could be a real problem if we decided to sell her on and buy a bigger Island in the future (you are never happy with your first boat apparently). I hear there are some right weird rules for home builds.

Does anyone know how much a 700 mile pontoon berth will cost per night, we have too many namby pamby southerners who are scared to use tenders!

What a good idea

But can we take the Isle of Man along, it may be useful as a sort dinghy

I like the IoM

Also worried about the Chunnel

You'll need a really big sea-cock to avoid a leak.

Could also cause a serious leak in France - but then again who cares?

The government seated firmly in the EU has got the jump on you here, The propulsion units have been secretly put in place over the last several years. Most members of Joe public have not wised up to this as yet!

Under the guise of wnd power turbines, huge outdrives are positioned all over the UK, when the time is right the power will be reversed and off we go across the atlantic or even down to portugal for the hols. You will know when this is happening cos the power drain will make all our confusers go dim due to the power drain on start up!!!!!!

Re: So, Mister Bond...

Didn't know that - fascinating.

I suspect the architect you're thinking of may have been Erno Goldfinger, who designed a number of, ahem, "challenging" concrete structures, including (I think) the Elephant and Castle centre.
