Following the example of some other members on here we are moving to Temple Marina this year. Looking forward to being closer to home. Lovely place.

While I'm waxing enthusiastic; if you have a dinghy pop across to Showboat for what I'm told is good honest food. Makes a change from walking to the pub.
Passed by Showboat many times and often wondered if it is possible to moor up there just to have a meal or whatever?
I have eaten there a couple of times as the guest of Eileen Baekhert (who remembers Lady Grosvenor & Costalot?) but was able to use her mooring.
A mate of my dad's bought Lady Grosvenor and had a couple of attempted coastal trips but loads of engine problems. I guess so many years on thames up to henley took their toll on the engines.

I haven't a clue what Harleyfords attitude is to folks mooring up for a meal. I suspect though that they don't encourage it.
........just 7% dearer than last year.
Even folks in the Harleyford office cannot believe how much Temple have bumped it up in a downturn.
We were going to move to Temple but now its the same price as Harleyford theres no point.
No, I moor there because of the location and ease of getting to henley and I recognise that I have to pay for that.
....but how can Temple justify being almost the same price? Same location, no Hardstanding, no engineers, no Chandlery....and no showboat
Its a nice spot, but not as good as Harleyford and hence the price should reflect that.
..back to sleep now
I was looking at rates on the River Hamble yesterday. My old Marina Fairey Yacht Harbour now called Hamble Point Marina is now charging anything up to £695 per metre per annum and I suspect they discourage anything less than a 40 footer.
quite a few boats leaving Temple becouse of the mooring fee increase, so you should have a good choice of mooring.
So not market forces, just greed then?
You seem personally offended. .
