Hello all,

We are interested in moving up from our long term mooring at MDL Bray in the near future for a bit of a change of scenery...(due to huge work comittments in the summer we only ever seem to get a week out at a time, which can be a tad limiting if you like to bimble and visit a few watering holes on the way upstream)

Abingdon marina seem to have a rather long waiting list (er, 'years' according to the bloke on the phone, although our boat originally came from up there)

As a possible short term fix we would be interested to hear if anyone up around them upper bits (Streatley/Wallingford/Dorchester/Abingdon/Oxford) would be able to offer a short term mooring of a month or so for an olde 27" Seamaster?

We are hoping to be able to take a week or so to cruise up, have a week or two back at work, another week going further up, and then after a week back at work we would hope to bring the boat back to Bray.

Does this sound like a plan or are we asking too much??

Emma

Osney Marina

Lovely location with Oxford only minutes walk.
Well placed for trips up to Lechlade. I assume your Seamaster will clear Osney Bridge. Also downstraem.
They have a website.

Yes, we have been told (depite the non folding windscreen) that we do fit under Osney. Think I'd be tempted to moor up first and check with a tape measure tho'....

We've only been up there once on a rental boat, but it was the most peaceful and serene bit of the river we've ever had the priviliged to visit. No gin palaces only canal boats!!! :D:D

Not many pubs tho' :(
