Mounts Bay anchorage

I was wondering if anyone has anchored just NW of St Michaels Mount between 4 and 5 metre contours? Looks like would be best in SE wind with shelter from the Mount.

If the wind veers, especially around to the prevailing SW, you'll have an interesting risk assessment to make.

I have tried that. We had to leave at one in the morning when a swell started from Lord knows where. Lunch stop yes. Overnight? not for me ever again.

Stayed overnight several times. Would not on a s/e thou expect swell will work round putting you on a leeshore

It's a recognised anchorage. Some years ago now, I went in there to anchor but found some moorings laid and borrowed one. I think they were waiting buoys for tide into the harbour.
Most often it would be uncomfortable but I had a quiet night.
