Hiya everyone,
I am now the proud new owner of a JeanneauSun 2000, however the previous owner left her for around 10years, so she is a bit of a state in some places. One of the main problems is that the headlining is mouldy. Does anyone now a good/tried & tested method to remove this. Keep in mind I'm only 14 so I have to keep one eye on the price. If it is really expensive to treat ill just have to live with it until I can afford new material.
Thanks,
Jack

Simplest cheapest is bleach. Put some ona rage and wipe over mould. Just be very careful. Wear old clothes and don't drip it on any upholstery. It stains by ripping out the dye. Make sure you have plenty of ventilation. ol'will

We use a lot of ‘Stardrops’ on the boat and it’s good for mould - or any other brand of household cleaner which combine detergent with bleach. Smells nicer than diluted toilet bleach! Maybe don’t risk mixing your own concoction though. We’ve got a 1989 Jeanneau Voyage 42’. Great solidly built boats, albeit with a few ‘quirks’. Welcome to the club :)

You can buy spray bottles of Mould cleaner ... or just mix a mild solution of liquid laundry bleach with water ... bottles usually have a mix ratio quoted on the bottle.

Soft rag / brush .... wipe on ... maybe a careful brushing at serious areas ... leave for a bit - then repeated plain water wipe to remove the bleach.

If you have really bad staining .... then you can use a stronger mix .... or after test in a inconspicuous area - oven cleaner put onto a rag first - then wiped on to the mould. BUT careful ... it can dissolve various materials and needs to be tested and NOT dripped onto other gear etc.

Just for comment .... Oven Cleaner is one of the best bilge cleaners I have ever used .... BUT must be washed / rinsed out / off thoroughly.
