Just started a delivery to Antigua on 48m sailing yacht... Turns out we will likely motor all the way!!! How cool is that...

Are you allowed to elaborate a bit more?

Eg, tell us what sort of boat she is, and where you are sailing from?

Thats cool to be able to surf the internet while surfing non existent waves in the Atlantic - its flat calm here too.
I hope the trades kick in soon for you - or would you prefer to motor across instead?

I am on a Parini 48m. We left Palma today. Very little wind here so motoring @ 11 knots. Skipper wants to be in Antigua around 12th December so need to keep pace up hence becoming a motor boat with a difference.

We have sat comms so hope to have Internet most of the way.

Oooh sounds like you are roughing it! :D

I guess you have a rather serious deadline to be at the Antigua Charter Show in time - woe betide if you are late......

Can you post some photos please occasionally, if your satcom will allow it? :)

A Parini?

Mr. Perkins certainly has excellent taste in boats!

Here is Mariette at Antigua Classics a couple of years ago

Her 'tender' used to be a wonderfully restored old steam yacht called Atlantide - here is a link to her, you have to scroll about 3/4 of the way down, and run the gauntlet of a few impressively ugly Sunseekers on the way :

You have a point there. In a ugliest boat context, Smooth Operator definitely has good chances to achieve a brilliant result.
