Motor Boat - Interesting Places to Live?

Hello all I've got a Seamaster 950, Flybridge Cruiser- currently on hard standings, awaiting the last bit of work. I hate the engineering side of things as it's my weakest side so naturally I've been putting it off. I want to learn, but I need something to inspire me.
I'm looking for recommendations on places that allow liveaboards, not limited to the UK to inspire me to pull my finger out and get this baby back in the water. :encouragement:
I lived in Brighton for 3 years on a Jaguar 27 and loved it. I've also loved being in Bristol's - but can anyone give me any recommendations? for places in Europe worth considering. :ambivalence:

Go to La Have, To Paris, through the French canals to The Med.
You can live for next to nothing on the canals.
Once in the Med, head for Spain

There are worse places than the Algarve.
Bruce´s boatyard if you want to live ashore or the Ria Formosa afloat.
