motor boat handling course

I have a Colvic Watson 34 and last year we had my wife's sister and her brother in law came with us for a week and had such a good time that they want to buy a boat themselves.Now the thing is they want me to teach them how to handle a motor boat and I don't feel that I am up to the task so I suggested that they take a course while they look for a suitable vessel.The thing is they would like to go to Europe esp. Holland so as to make a holiday and sus out the waterways at the same time.So any ideas where they may start to look?

Where are they based? A chat with a decent RYA training centre is possibly a good start. I'm sure they'll have an instructor with experience of navigating europe/holland waterways. They could also advise which courses they should do...

They live in Dundalk here in Ireland which means they will have to travel no mater where the course will be as there are no local courses available.In Carlingford where I am based there was a yacht based course taking you up to yachtmaster but that not what they want.
They are considering buying a Dutch type cruiser and starting to explore the inland waterways from Holland.So they think a course given through English in Holland would give them a taste of Europe,a useful course and a holiday all at the same time.He is retiring in two years time and he is making all kinds of plans it's great to have money!

I did my RYA Powerboat Level 1&2 combined, and my Seamanship & Navigation at Kinnego Marina, Just outside Lurgan at the bottom of Lough Neagh. Great guys, highly recommended. Good train links from Southern Ireland to Lurgan.

Get them to hop on the ferry to Holyhead and arrange to have Kwackers pick them up and teach them all they need to know! Seemples!
