According to BOAT/US, the 10 most popular boat names in the US in 2004 were:

1) Aquaholic
2) Island Time
3) Hakuna Matata
4) Happy Hours
5) Fish Tales
6) Liberty
7) Seas the Day
8) Freedom
9) Ohana
10) Summer Wind

In the '90s, every other boat seemed to be names Seaduce, LunaSea, FantaSea, Odysea, or Liquid Asset. However, until '04, Serenity made the top 10 list every year for more than 10 years.

Osprey has been the most popular sailboat name for years.

I'm partial to more original names...for instance a boat owned by a couple who both play horn in a symphony orchestra: "Toot Sweet"...some friends whose last name is Wright: "Just Wright"...And I'd LOVE to know the story behind the name of a boat I saw on the Chesapeake last year: "Plan B."

Probably similar to my boat. Because of a sudden about-turn in our overall life plan my competition car became redundant so I sold it and bought a yacht, which I called.......... "Substitute"

Then get loads of punters to come and give it a sea-trial, (no deposit, of course) and pass wind -err no - verdicts.
