Today is officially the most depressing day of the year according to the beeb, so I think it's time for a photo thread, to cheer us all up. So, your best boaty shot of 2009, either because it's a good photo, or because it reminds you of a good time out on your boat, or both.

I'll start

I thought I was feeling a bit gloomy; couldn't account for it till I read this post.

This was a nice day, for reasons unconnected with boats really But there are a couple of rather nice boats in the picture too:

Good idea Nick. Scuse me for borrowing your and The Major's tender-in-foreground format, but here is the lovely
Cala Pregonda in Menorca where we stayed a few days. Deserted, because like many bits of Menorca, it is not
served by roads. Early July 2009

And sunset at Salecci Beach, NW Corsica. Reminds me of this very nice evening with 7 people aboard, party
atmosphere, all night long. And night time swimming - this bay is shallow and we were anchored in about 3m
here with clear sandy bottom all night. Mid August 2009

Lots of good memories from 2009 - in a slight reversal of the tender-in-the-foreground theme that Nick, the Major and Jfm have adopted, this is from Hurricane's delivery trip from Sant Carles to Malta in April; this is the blue lagoon, with swmbo on the (seemingly!) ubiquitous Walker Bay tender. Those with especially keen eyesight will recognise PowerYachtBlog's legs near the anchor ball... :D

summer 2009

First was North Sound, Skomer.... flat calm evening and amazing sunset shared with one other boat and 20,000 manx Shearwaters, puffins and kittiwakes returning. Shame about the rick 'n roll when the tide turned!

Second is our secret beach, only reachable by sea... an expanse of glorious sand and warm water. can get interesting when the tide ebbs, gets intermittant breakers from somewhere that flood tenders, thank goodness for drybags.
