Can anyone please help with information about a Morebas 7200 boat? I have just purchased one and am interested to know more about history etc. Many thanks!
Mørebas 7200, production started in the late 70's and stopped some time in the 80's. Three versions built ... one with longer keel and inboard and shaft, one with V hull and outboard and one with V hull and sterndrive.
Engines ranging from 45 Hp diesel to 130 hp sterndrive petrol. and somewhere between 85 and 115 hp outboard. Speed of 25 knot + should be obtainable with the largest alternatives. Fuel tank should be approx 110L and the boat is conidered to have good seakeeping for size and comfortable accommodation for the size. Mixed views on the layout and free movement of people onboard is difficult without affecting others ... consoles are a bit tight for the larger of us ...
Good stowage at the stern and critics complain about narrow side decks...
Will see if I can get hold of the manufacturing history other than what I have described here from the back of my mind....
Fantastic! I've searched the net and been unable to find anything. I purchased one with a 130hp sterndrive. It's my first boat so any information is a great help.
Sorry, no more information yet ... but believe that Mørebas A/S (eq to Ltd) went bancrupt and Mørejet is a spinoff of this ...
You will find an internet forum discussing the boats, parts availabliity etc http://groups.yahoo.com/group/moerebas/ that may come up with more information than what I can do right now. The discussions is in majority in Scandinavian language, but I am sure that you'll get some response from them.
Hi my mate has just also purchaed a Morebas 7200 La Sirena and i was trying to also find out more info about this boat. It is his 1st boat and he was wondering what type of water boat it is. Would you be able to take it around the coast's or is it just for inland water ways. thanks James
If you can get a photo of the hull, it will be quite easy. Characteristics are degree of V of the hull from front to back (it usually varies along the hull), the beam compared to V, and things like chines.
Usually, but not always, sea faring ability is down to the V of the hull, but that's not an absolute, there are different types of hull that will fare differently - planing, semi planing, and displacement, and within each of those categories, some will be better sea faring than others.
hi all not sure if i'm posting in the right place my name is steve a am an expat (british) living in sete south of france
having just purchased a morebas 17 deluxe i am looking for the top piece of the cabin can anyone tell me where i might find parts for this boat and any other info on this model any help much appreciated
Very capable hull, and often delivered witha 75 hp two-stroke Mariner... and quite popular in Scandinavia... Foam filled hull which could get soggy which impacts weight and speed ...
