I seem to enjoy challenging the conventional thinking and have come across another interesting engine... This time it is a 200 Hp piston engine (diesel available)...small, light etc., and seem to have similar benefits as the Wankel Diesel I have been talking about before, but if possible may be smaller (yup, it's the blue(ish) cylindrical "thing" in the front of the people in the picture) :
Claimed benefits are:
Higher Power & Torque
Easier to Rebuild
Higher Reliability (approved for use in aircrafts)
Quieter Operation
50% Fewer Parts
50% Smaller Size
Better Fuel Economy
Longer Time Between Overhauls
Very Fast Throttle Response
Liquid Cooled
Less Weight
Smooth "vibration free" Operation
Lower Maintenance Cost
Basically I thought this should be enough to be interesting for the boating community.
You can see more details of operation etc., on web site http://www.dynacam.com
