Moorings in Düsseldorf germany

Anyone know anything about it?

Is there a good marina on the Rhine and what is the cost. done searches on google to no avail.

Don't know about Dusseldorf, but a friend of mine in Munster recently bought me a fantastic guide to the Dortmund-Ems canal, which gives a detailed map all the way from the North Sea down to Dortmund.

He says he can get us free, secure moorings in Munster if we (me & SWMBO) go over to see them in the boat!

I've been steadily planning our 2010 holidays ever since!

I'm sure there will be detailed guides for all the waterways in Germany, and if they're anything like the one we were given all the information will be there. The quality and attention to detail were unsurprisingly excellent.

I'll check tonight if there's one covering the Dusseldorf area and post the details tomorrow if I can find out any more. Should be able to list the waterway authority contact details and then find out about marinas etc. That is of course unless someone else posts the details in the meantime!

There's a small marina near the Rhine Tower, but don't know whether it accepts visitors.

Thanks for all the info ! I would love to go over there and maybe leave the boat there for a while? My nephew is stuiding there and we love to visit Germany anyway !

I recall a couple took an Elling to Turkey via the Rhine - you can read the Rhine part of the trip here.

There is a facility in the newish sort of arty quarter.....

Its in a side docks area off the river...

Behind me from were I took this picture there is a second facility that appears to take smaller boats...

Its in a nice area, lots of decent retuarants, trendy....

Bout 20 minutes from the airport, good connections to B'hm and Leeds...

My Deutsche Binnenwasserstrassen guide only showed as far as Duisberg, and didn't list any contacts for the Dusseldorf area I'm afaraid.

Thats the mediahafen, I think. The website isn't very useful with the practical stuff like mooring info though (Or my german isn't good enough!)

It looks like a nice place to stay and from Rick's note's (elling trip - gemini Duo) it sounds like every one is very friendly, I can not wait to do myself,
