Mooring rope type and diameter

The size of rope needed is less than you think especially if you moor with headline, 2 springs and stern line...... 4 lines in all. But they will look inadequate and also not be comfortable to handle. They will have little resistance to wear on cleats / fairleads / pontoon edges etc.

So you go up in size to what is comfortable to handle, cleats and fairleads can accept and looks good.

Sounds daft - but true.

For a boat like yours, only touch smaller than mine - 10 - 12mm is fine. 3 stranded gives excellent resistance to wear, braided is more comfortable to handle.
