Mooring in Nidri

We need to moor in Nidri so that someone can pick up our outboard. Can anyone recommend a pleasant pontoon? We have been told to avoid IBA, maybe because of a rivalry issue. Another option would be to anchor and row the outboard ashore - anchoring generally preferred. But is it possible just off Nidri? Things are generally quieter than normal here.

Lots of boats anchor in the channel between Nidri and Vlikho. You want to be south of the ferries. It's quite deep - around 10 to 12 m. There was bags of room last week anyway.

The IBA pontoon was responsible for blowing my Mastervolt Mass Combi to shit. Anchor at the bottom end and get the outboard delivered to Vlikho yacht club if they are still going.......hope so, nice folk.

You could nicely ask Sail Ionian in Vlikho if you can use their pontoon. Di and Neil are very nice.

Vliho YC are indeed still going and have just had a pontoon installed with room for at least 10 boats.
Alternatively Nidri Town quay is fine and usually has space.

Now happily anchored as advised- but in 5metres. Outboard delivered, all good. I’d forgotten how great this forum is!

Nisos have their own pontoon in Nidri now as well.

I would second the 'avoid IBA in Nidri' motion. An extremely rude English lady named Jackie attempted to charge us for a diver to sort out her mess of lazy lines which her staff to be fair did try to sort out for us but only succeeded in dredging up a tangled mess of old rope. It feels like a shakedown, unsuccessful on this occasion as we simply left and moored on the town quay. The only bit of unpleasantness in a week of great cruising in the S. Ionian.
