Moody 34/346. Blue water capable or just a coastal boat?

We viewed a 346 and found the galley was very cramped. A 376 offered a far more useable living space.

Both boats seem quite expensive these days. The previous generation Primrose designs offer much better value for money. Our 39 cost about the same as a 346 at the time and had easily twice the living space. More than twice the tankage. And it took us ten thousand miles across Biscay, in to the Med, and across to the Carribbean.

As near accurate as I can make it, but he was a friend of theirs and wanted them to have a tough seaworthy boat and thought the Moody 31 was ideal and of course he was entitled to his opinion. I would hardly call it bigoted. Met the couple who bought her some years later and they were pleased with her and had done a considerable amount of sailing with no problems.
No different from the thousands of people who are equally happy with their purchase of a Benjenbav for exactly the same kind of use. The Moody 31 is just one of many types of boats that meet that meet those requirements, but more difficult to find because so few were produced in comparison.
