I was. And yes, it was some view...some view of 50 yards to track, chain-link fencing, and conspicuous consumption by the oscenely rich with no interest in anything other than "being seen" on the right boat. Can't even begin to tell you how naff the whole thing is. £4000 for a berth, horrible swell in the harbour, obscene prices for everything, thousands of German Schumacher-wannabes (complete with Nomex suits and bad moustaches), crap views, processional "racing". Take my advice...watch it at home on the telly (at least that way you can go outside afterwards and watch grass grow for a bit of entertainment).
All F1 is processional; cant understand why anyone watches it. Whoever wins the start at Monaco wins the race if the car keeps going and the pit crew dont f**k it up.
For real racing you should have been at Silverstone for Superbikes, especially the first race where Bayliss lobbed his bike down the road twice and still came fifth. Respect
